Veterans' Day Celebration

Boise State began a regular Veterans Day program several years ago and it continues as an tradition to mark the November 11 day of remembrance honoring our military veterans. The Student Involvement & Leadership Center is proud to coordinate the annual events that occur on Veterans Day at Boise State University. Since the program's inception, we have hosted speakers, performance artists, receptions, and military ceremonies. Last year, with the help of private donors and the student government, a new Veterans Memorial was installed to commemorate Boise State students, alumni, faculty, and staff who have served in the United States military. Boise State's own ROTC Color Guard, as well as the Idaho National Guard and the Marines are some of the outside groups that continue to grow the Boise State Veterans Day Celebration. Please view the Student Involvement & Leadership Center's calendar for information on this year's Veterans Day events.

December 1 marks Worlds AIDS Day, an international awareness day used to increase understand of HIV and AIDS. World AIDS Day is an internationally recognized day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and to increase understanding of HIV and AIDS. Held on December 1st, it has been marked annually since 1988. At Boise State University, the Student Involvement & Leadership Center has coordinated activities on campus to mark this day, including speakers, presentations, free HIV testing, red ribbon campaigns, and special viewings of panels of the traveling AIDS Memorial Quilt.
